Norma's Cafe is giving away free slices of its "mile-high pie" on Monday, Jan 23. Even better: You don't have to buy anything in order to get your free slice.

Free Pie on National Pie Day

Mile-high pies come in coconut, chocolate, lemon, chocolate peanut butter and Oreo.

Monday, Jan. 23 is National Pie Day (didn't you know?), and Norma's has offered free pie for eight years in a row, says owner Ed Murph in a statement. "We've used this day to share our sweet tooth with our guests and are always looking for ways to stay true to our motto, 'Life is Short. Eat Dessert First.'"

Amen, brother.

Free pie is available at all four Norma's Cafe locations: three in Dallas (Oak Cliff, at the Tollway and Frankford and near the Shops at Park Lane) and one in Frisco.

Norma's is also selling (not giving away for free) a new S'mores Cookie Pie. You might have heard that the Girl Scouts' new S'mores cookies are hard to find. Perhaps Norma's Cafe has something to do with that: Restaurant reps bought 50 packages to make its limited-edition S'mores Cookie Pies.

You can find S'mores Cookie Pie, $3.99 a slice, at Norma's restaurants from Jan. 23 through Feb. 26, the end of Girl Scout cookie season. 100 percent of S'mores pie proceeds go to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.

Slices of free pie on Jan. 23 will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. while supplies last.
