The company opened its first store in Richardson near Alamo Drafthouse. It has become a favorite for its hearty between-breads and craft brew selection. The expansion to Turtle Creek Village on Oak Lawn Avenue this summer seemed like a natural fit for owners Kevin and Jenny Galvan because of its proximity to the heart of the city and because of its vibe, they said.

The new 3,000-square-foot space will bring the best of the flagship location to Dallas, including fast-casual service, 14 craft drafts plus others in bottles and cans, and the restaurant's signature Haymaker cocktail, a frozen concoction using Makers Mark whiskey, orange juice, lemonade and iced tea.

Fans of Haystack, however, will notice one thing missing: growlers.

The owners said they will not be selling beer to-go, at least not at first, though they hope to add it in the future.

Haystack Burgers and Barley in Dallas is expected to open in August. Peek at the menu on the restaurant's website.
