Ben & Jerry's

Vegans and lactose-intolerant lovers of creamy frozen treats rejoice! Ben & Jerry's, yes the Yankee ice cream company, has unlocked the secret to a non-dairy recipe for their kooky flavors.

Ben of Ben & Jerry's releases limited Bernie Sanders ice cream flavor

The "non-dairy frozen dessert," they technically can't call it ice cream, is made with almond milk. The pints will hit store shelves mid-February in the following flavors:

  • Chocolate Fudge Brownie: chocolate with fudge brownies from New York's Greyston Bakery
  • P.B. & Cookies: vanilla with chocolate sandwich cookies and peanut butter swirls
  • Chunky Monkey: banana with fudge chunks and walnuts
  • Coffee Caramel Fudge: coffee with fudge chunks and walnuts

All flavors are certified vegan by Vegan Action meaning the ice creams do not include any animal products — no dairy, honey or eggs here. Other ingredients like cocoa, sugar, coffee, bananas and vanilla are all fair trade certified.

As the company says in the promotional video, they spent a long time on the recipes and think they will be worth the wait.
