Pizza and beer joint Old Chicago to open in Fort Worth

Old Chicago is the kind of pizza and beer bar where you don't have to be a card-carrying beer snob to try something new. Maybe it's because Old Chicago is a chain restaurant, with more than 100 locations from Colorado to Kentucky. There's no pretense. It's nice.

Now, Fort Worth residents will be able to sample brews and pizza at a new restaurant expected to open Feb. 16. The new Fort Worth restaurant joins just one other Old Chicago in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, at Mockingbird Station in Dallas.

Given that Old Chicago has duplicated itself all over the midwest, the Fort Worth restaurant is expected to be like its brothers: a casual restaurant and bar serving chicken wings, fried pickles, build-your-own mac and cheese, and, of course, pizzas and beer.

The Fort Worth restaurant will also host the World Beer Tour, a rewards program for members who try 36 beers in its first 76 days of operations. (Challenge: accepted, am I right?) Those who do it get a plaque with their name on it, hung on the Wall of Foam.
