Two more barbecue restaurants are opening in Dallas-Fort Worth in early January. Meat you in line?

Juicy Pig Barbecue, in Denton, opened in early January. It comes from the restaurateurs behind GreenHouse Restaurant and Bar and Loco Cafe, both in Denton, says Eater. They report Juicy Pig will sell brisket, ribs, sausage and more. Don't want to eat in the restaurant? Patrons can also use the walk-up menu and sit on the patio or in their cars. 708 N. Lakewood Smokehouse, in East Dallas, opened Thursday, Jan. 7. It takes over the former Ali Baba on Abrams Road and comes, in part, from the man who operates 3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House in Frisco. The partners are leaning on Rudolph's Market for sausages and Empire Bakery for breads; the brisket, turkey and other meats are smoked in-house. Interestingly, Lakewood Smokehouse is branching out from the typical barbecue menu by also selling chicken wings, barbecue tacos and brisket queso. And unlike many other barbecue joints in town, you'll order from a server here instead of at the counter. They'll even give you silverware. And a napkin! 1901 Abrams Road, Dallas. Dinner only for now. lakewoodsmokehouse.com.
