Deal alert: Margaritas are $2 at On the Border restaurants Thursday

Here's a chance to cheaply waste away again in Margaritaville: On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina is celebrating a birthday Oct. 29, which means steep discounts on its signature margarita all day long.

First opened in Uptown Dallas in 1982, On the Border is turning the big 33. Naturally, its birth year serves as inspiration for Thursday's deal:

Grab a house marg, frozen or on the rocks, for $1.82. Add an additional shot of tequila or liqueur for just $0.82.

"Quite simply, we want to be your favorite Mexican restaurant," said Ward Whitworth, the company's president, in a press release. Well, this certainly helps (and makes Chili's $5 deal look like a rip off).
