New restaurant Unleavened Fresh Kitchen debuts Sept. 22 Lakewood

A breakfast, lunch and dinner spot called Unleavened Fresh Kitchen is expected to open in Lakewood Sept. 22.

Owners Scott Piland and Tom Dynan, both east-of-75 dwellers, are opening the restaurant near Abrams Parkway and La Vista Drive, just across the street from Lakewood Theater. (It's a newsy moment for the neighborhood as we await the fate of the Lakewood Theater. So add this to the stack of news.)

Unleavened Fresh Kitchen will be an order-at-the-counter restaurant that focuses on healthier ingredients.

Most of the menu items are wraps -- made from local shop Luna's Tortillas -- or salads.

To get an idea of the menu, take a look at the Unleavened: chicken salad, currants, celery, chia, lettuce, carrot, garden sprouts and tomato; or the Weekender: fried chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, carrot, green onion, Boursin spread and ranch dressing. Each can come as a wrap or salad. See other menu items below.

The restaurant will also sell beer, wine and mimosas.
