Residents in the north and northeast reaches of Collin County will no longer have to drive to Plano or Frisco for a Kolache Factory fix. Murphy's first Kolache Factory opens Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The new shop makes three in North Texas -- all in Collin County. (Sorry, Dallas folks.)
Kolache Factory is a franchise that now numbers 50 locations. The company sells (you guessed it!) kolaches -- pastries filled with meat, cheese or fruit. Kolaches originated in Eastern Europe, but they've become something of a tradition in parts of Texas.
The Kolache Factory in Murphy will serve Katz Coffee. The shop is owned by Murphy residents Gabriela and David Stephenson.
Kolache Factory, opening Sept. 2: 601 East FM 544, Murphy. Open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday; 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
