Devour this: Five dining and drinking events coming up

Summer Vegetable Dinner at CBD Provisions

Executive chef Richard Blankenship and chef Andrew Wiseheart of Austin restaurants Contigo and Gardner will collaborate on a six-course family-style dinner featuring seasonal produce from North Texas farmers on Aug. 25.

The owners of Comeback Creek Farm, which will provide some of the dinner's ingredients, will discuss their harvests at the event, which begins with a cocktail from Midnight Rambler's Chad Solomon and Christy Pope. The dinner, which includes meat and fish, ends with a dessert made with vegetables from CBD's executive pastry chef Ruben Torano. Read more about the event here.

Uncork for a Cause with Prince Fielder

The Texas Rangers designated hitter will celebrate the release of his 2012 Sonoma Reserve Red Wine at this benefit for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Promise House, which helps at-risk youth.

Only two barrels of the red wine blend were made, and each guest will receive a bottle to take home. Fielder will autograph bottles for an additional cost. Admission to the Aug. 27 event is $90 per person or $250 for a meet-and-greet reception with Fielder before the main event. Read more about the event here.

Four Corners Brewing Co. Dinner 

The Trinity Groves brewery and House of Blues will host a four-course beer-pairing dinner on Aug. 25 accompanied by live music performed by the brewery staff members. The menu includes grilled oysters with chorizo-lime gratin, kale salad with spicy fried chickpeas, and smoked chicken with braised collard greens, sweet potato hash and curry barbecue sauce. DFW Restaurant Week

More than 80 restaurants will offer three-course, fixed-price dinners for $35 or $45 per person through Aug. 23, and more than 50 will extend their specials through Aug. 30. In addition, some restaurants will also offer a two-course lunch for $20 per person.

100-Point-Wine Dinner at III Forks

The Far North Dallas steakhouse and master sommelier Guy Stout will host a reception and dinner on Sept. 10 featuring six wines rated 100 points by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator or Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

The pairings include Lokoya Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 served with lamb and kangaroo loins and green curry pearl couscous, and Lail Vineyards J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 with Canadian duck agnolotti.
