Woodfire Kirby's on Greenville Avenue is closed for good

Woodfire Kirby's, the bar and grill located on Greenville Avenue in Dallas near the Granada Theater and the Blue Fish, closed Saturday night.

The owners have operated at that address for 20 years, says Jim Ingram, co-managing partner and co-owner. It was first a Kirby's Steakhouse, then transitioned to the more casual Woodfire Kirby's in 2009.

Ingram says he and co-owner Monte Hough couldn't come to a lease agreement with the landlord and decided to close the restaurant.

"Sometimes you just have to turn the page," Ingram says. The Advocate spotted the closure first.

The two co-owners also own three Kirby's Steakhouses -- in Southlake, the Woodlands and San Antonio -- plus Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse in Oklahoma City and Nickel and Rye in Uptown Dallas.

There's a chance the restaurateurs might open Woodfire Kirby's elsewhere someday -- "but not on Greenville," Ingram says.
