Aug. 11 will be the last day Company Cafe will be open, confirmed Karen Newberry, a manager.

The location wasn't a good spot for year-round business, Newberry said.

Company Cafe is an indoor and outdoor restaurant located next-door to popular bar Katy Trail Ice House. Company Cafe's menu features occasional healthy twists on brunch classics. The French toast, for instance, is gluten free. The Deep Bowl is a carb-light dish with sweet potato hash, eggs, bacon, avocado and beef. But healthful isn't necessarily the rule here: There's also fried chicken with ranch dressing, fried chicken with pancakes and fried chicken on a bun, among many other things.

The Company Cafe on Greenville Avenue will remain open. That restaurant received three stars from The Dallas Morning News in 2011.

The company also recently opened a barbecue joint called Back Home Barbecue on Ross Avenue in Dallas.

Owners of the Katy Trail Ice House own the land Company Cafe sits on. They aren't sure yet what they might do with the lease once Company Cafe moves, says partner Buddy Cramer.

Company Cafe is "definitely not going to become an expanded Katy Trail Ice House," Cramer says.
