Free Olive Garden breadsticks. You read that right.

A food truck is rolling through Dallas and Fort Worth July 9, 10 and 12 promoting its new breadstick sandwiches. We tried them -- both the chicken parmesan and the Sicilian meatball -- and they are not the best thing since sliced bread. But those breadsticks: They are.

"Our breadsticks are iconic, and we know they are a favorite," says Jessica Dinon, manager of communications for Olive Garden. That's why the company devised the two new breadstick sandwiches. They debuted June 1.

The breadstick sandwiches are built with one oversized breadstick sliced in half, slathered with marinara and filled with either chicken parm or meatballs. They're worth a try for the price of free.

Plus: The breadsticks are free, too, when the truck rolls into Dallas-Fort Worth.
