Sometimes we let you know about reality show casting calls, and participation in such almost always qualifies as "questionable judgment." But, San Antonio-based Whataburger just announced it is "urgently" seeking ultimate fans for a commercial that will be filmed in D-FW in July, and trying out is almost definitely not a trap.
No, really. You send them the story of your favorite Whataburger memory (eating it? throwing it? sharing it?), and if you're picked, you get paid. Possibly in Whataburgers. Sign us up.

"Are you a huge fan of one of these Whataburger All-Time Favorites: Monterrey Melt, Chop House Cheddar Burger, Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich, A.1. Thick & Hearty Burger or the Green Chile Double?
Do you have a story about how your All-Time Favorite has been a special part of your life? A funny story? A sweet/emotional story? Have you gone to extraordinary lengths to get one? Or maybe you have a special time, place or person you always share one with?"
Do you daily wear a white and orange striped shirt? Live in an A-frame house? Email your story, a recent photo, and your cell phone number to info.atomic@mac.com. Plus, send it to us because we like weird, and if you've gone to "extraordinary lengths" to get a fast-food hamburger -- admittedly, among the best of its kind -- that. is. weird.
They're looking for real people and real customers, so no anthropomorphic amusement park animals need apply. And, if you're an actorly type, at least be good enough to convince them you want that juicy patty in your face-hole. The commercial will be shot either during the week of July 6 or July 13, so also make sure that doesn't conflict with your summer river float or other late Fourth plans.
