Chipotle rant: What is with the glass paranoia?

I am usually not one to complain about restaurants, but here goes: I am tired of going to Chipotle (just met my 18-year-old high school senior there for lunch) and having them say, "Sir, please don't touch the glass."

It happened again today, for the 3,487th time. I raised my hands and said, "Sir, my hand is -- or was -- nowhere near the glass."

He looked confused and said, "Well, please make sure that you don't touch it."

I have heard this I don't know many times, and once, I was even accosted by an enforcer of a customer, who also had no clue what she was talking about. I pointed out that my hand had veered in the direction of the glass but never touched it. My son can back me up on this and says he and his classmates are sick of eating there because of the glass paranoia.

No more Chipotle! As fast food goes, it's quite good, but I am now whipped to the point of all-out avoidance because of the glass accusations.

OK, that's my rant for the day. And again, I like the food. A lot. I just don't want to be accosted ever again for an imagined offense. I don't need that with a lunchtime meal.
