After a successful, smooth maiden voyage, we weren't surprised to hear that music festival Mile 0 Fest in Key West, Florida, would be back for a second year in 2019. And given the strength of that first lineup, we shouldn't be surprised that next year's edition might be even stronger.
On Wednesday, July 4 OhWook! Productions released a star-studded lineup poster and announced the dates for the Americana and Texas country-intensive festival taking place Jan. 29 - Feb. 2, 2019.
Returning for another headlining set will be Oklahoma's reigning honky-tonk kings the Turnpike Troubadours, as well as Texas stars such as Jack Ingram, Wade Bowen, Charlie Robison, Cody Canada and the Departed and Jamie Lin Wilson.
Though that's a lot of Texas names, Mile 0 organizers aren't out to create a standard Texas concert out of state. Florida's Latin-tinged country group the Mavericks, Minnesota's indie-rock minded bluegrass outfit Trampled by Turtles and Tyler Childers, the blazing-hot indie-country artist from Kentucky, help fill out the top of the concert poster in a varied, unpredictable manner.
Some notable Texans will also be making their first trip to Mile 0, of course, with Randy Rogers Band, Reckless Kelly, Kevin Fowler, Band of Heathens, Flatland Cavalry and Charley Crockett, among others. The event takes place at Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheater and at a number of clubs throughout Key West for satellite shows.
Also, instead of being a four-night event during the first full weekend of February, the 2019 festival will be a five-night shindig taking place one week earlier. And there will be more of those satellite shows in 2019, thanks to 10 stages hosting over 100 performances from the 60+ festival artists.
