A new festival is coming to North Texas this spring, bringing with it the sounds of indie pop band Young the Giant and Texas country group Josh Abbott Band.

CFW Festival, as it's called, is slated to take place April 13-14 on the grounds outside Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Wondering what's the titular acronym stands for? Craft beer, food and wine, which organizers plan to weave into the fabric of the event. According to a statement, about 30 breweries, restaurants and wineries will be onsite to keep attendees filled and buzzed. It also promises chef demonstrations every hour and celebrity guest appearances, though no one has specifically been named yet.

Young the Giant and Josh Abbott Band will headline the fest, with support from R&B artist R.LUM.R and the honky-tonk friendly Lonestar.

Fort Worth's Fortress Festival announces another strong lineup led by Father John Misty

CFW Festival debut comes during a tumultuous period for Texas fests. In 2017, a new event called Starfest flopped after preemptively announcing performers and consequentially losing its venue. Another, Sound on Sound in Austin, had to cancel last-minute after its investor pulled out.

That's not to say there aren't success stories. Locally, Fortress Festival in Fort Worth is preparing for a solid second year headlined by Father John Misty and Courtney Barnett. And Dallas' Old 97's County Fair has become a beloved springtime party. This year, it's booked Lord Huron, the Mavericks and more to perform alongside its namesake headliner. Both events also happen in April.

Tickets to CFW Festival, which cost $49.99 per day for general admission ($11.99 for children 12 and younger), go on sale Friday, Feb. 9. VIP tickets, which cost $149.99, offer special parking, a gift upon entry, access to a backstage hangout area and access to one "experience" in the demonstrations tent.
