The best Instagrams from massive Tom Petty tribute show in Denton

Denton's Oaktopia music festival officially kicked off Thursday night with the sounds of Tom Petty ringing from Oak Street near downtown.

Best Fest, an organization that honors rock and roll greats with tribute shows, set up camp alongside a stellar lineup of musicians for Petty Fest. Stars Norah Jones, Jason Lee, Midlake's Eric Pulido and Joey McClellan, Jakob Dylan, Nikki Lane and more took turns at the mic to sing their favorite Tom Petty songs. That included "Mary Jane's Last Dance," "American Girl," "Free Fallin'" and "Saving Grace," among others.

It was, by all accounts, an epic sing-along.
