Frisco Streats Gourmet Food Truck & Music Festival

About two dozen food trucks, including Easy Slider, Ssahm BBQ, Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe and Guava Tree, will be parked in downtown Frisco for this fifth annual festival. The event will also feature music by six local bands, including headliner Moving Colors, plus vendor booths and a beer and wine garden.

Live! In the Park

Klyde Warren Park is usually pretty lively. This time, come out to learn about fun ways to stay fit as a family. Other attractions include face painting, crafts, giveaways, music and fitness activities throughout the park. A health and wellness fair runs from 1 to 6 p.m. A concert starts at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a free health clinic beginning 9 a.m. at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

Arts in Bloom

There is more than flowers blooming in McKinney. For one day, more than 100 local and regional artists will line the streets in the city’s downtown for this spring arts festival. Expect art, music and food. Sip wine from local wineries at the wine garden. Peruse the farmers market from 8 a.m. to noon at Chestnut Square

Oak Cliff Earth Day

Go green at Oak Cliff Earth Day. Learn about environmentally friendly vehicles such as a bus that runs on grease from the Dallas County School District at this festival, which has been running for a decade. Pet animals at the petting zoo, see native reptiles from the John Bunker Sands Wetlands, watch live raptors and check out bees in a beehive. Animal lovers can adopt a pet and owners can register their pooches in the Oak Cliff Mutt Strut. Live entertainment starts at 12:30 p.m. Peruse locally grown plants, crafts, art and food.

Scarborough Renaissance Festival

For eight weekends, a 35-acre site in Waxahachie transforms into a Renaissance village with its own monarchy. Catch an armoured joust while eating a giant turkey leg, watch fire jugglers and a game of human chess, cheer for sword fighters and turtle racers, and shop for artisan crafts and jewelry. Each weekend has a different theme and special events include daily beer tastings, Mother’s Day brunch and a Memorial Day tribute to veterans.
