Music festival 35 Denton promised it would keep the party rolling after this spring's epic return from brief hiatus, and it recently made good on that promise with several artist announcements.
The fest, slated for March 11-13, 2016, will welcome more than 100 bands to 11 stages around the Denton Square (one of which will not be longtime favorite Hailey's). Per the first wave of releases, the invite extends to mostly local musicians, save for Eliot Sumner, the daughter of Police front man Sting. Rest assured, there are more to come.

35 Denton began as a showcase at South by Southwest in Austin in 2009 and grew to a multi-day music extravaganza featuring several hundred bands over the years, such as fest alumni Big Boi, Solange Knowles and the Flaming Lips. The loss of several key organizers induced the aforementioned break, which occurred in 2014. This year's re-debut, however, was warmly welcomed by Dentonites.
When GuideLive spoke to festival organizers in the spring, they said the retooled 35 Denton aimed to celebrate the community and showcase talent the college city has to offer, including yoga, social runs and expert panels about the music industry.
