Activities include trunk-or- treating for the kids, a pumpkin patch, games, a salsa-tasting competition, street performers, and vendor booths featuring local art, crafts and food. Highlights include the annual coffin races, a lantern- lighted twilight parade and two ticketed performances of the Halloween musical Cirque du Horror.

Trinity River Wind Festival 

Go fly a kite along the Trinity River at this celebration of wide-open spaces and wind-driven toys.

There'll be public kite flying and kite giveaways, a hot air balloon, a mini train, show and stunt kites, exhibitor booths, a kids' fun zone, entertainment, disc dog demonstrations, food for purchase, paper airplane making and more.

Otsukimi Moon-Viewing Celebration

Here's a rare find, a mid-week festival. Enjoy the full autumn moon with a picnic, calligraphy and ikebana demonstrations, and haiku poetry. Check out a variety of Japanese music and dance performances.

There'll also be sky-gazing and moon-related activities with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and a rabbit petting zoo from the Bunny Burrow Rabbit Rescue. This event is presented by the Crow Collection of Asian Art in partnership with the Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth.

North Texas Pit Bull Pride Festival

Celebrate blocky-headed dogs and the people who love them. The event includes a doggy fashion show and costume contest, athletic demos and tryouts, adoptable dogs, music and food.
