Aurora

The Dallas Arts District will be hopping on Friday night. You can check out light-, video- and sound-based art by 80 different artists during Aurora, which is back after a year's hiatus and will again take over the 19-block Arts District downtown.

To say the event is huge is an understatement. In addition to all of the Aurora attractions, it is held on the third Friday of the month, which means the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crow Collection of Asian Art all have their late-night celebrations. (Aurora's founding media partner is The Dallas Morning News.) If you're not planning on going, check out our quick guide and consider changing your plans to avoid major FOMO.

Dallas Comic Con Fan Days

While smaller than the Fan Expo event that takes place earlier in the year, the annual Dallas Comic Con Fan Days is still a great opportunity to hang out with like-minded people, see some panels and maybe meet some of your favorite pop-culture celebrities.

The Irving Convention Center will be packed with people in costume and lots of cool, geeky stuff to buy. The biggest guest stars this time around include Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess), Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones), Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid) and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
