Six festivals coming to Fort Worth's West 7th district

As if the free parking wasn't enough, Fort Worth's West 7th District just gave us six more good reasons -- or eight, depending on how you look at it -- to park it and party in the district this festival season.

Six fests are planned for West 7th this summer making for eight total events as part of the district's 2015 festival series. Starting in April and ending in October, the series brings back past favorites, like Brewfest on Crockett in April and pARTy in June, and a new festival or two. Here's what you can expect from start to finish.

Brewfest on Crockett

When: April 18 from 5 p.m. to - 10 p.m.; Sept. 12, time TBA

What: A craft beer festival featuring eight microbrews from across the U.S., plus music from the popular Poo Live Crew and other local bands. Fort Worth's new Panther Island Brewery will be offering beer infusions, which are like tasty chemistry experiments for ultimate craft brew nuts. Beer prices will start at $5 per glass, and a portion of all proceeds benefit The Parenting Center of Fort Worth's initiative to raise awareness about child abuse prevention.

One of the new festivals, the block party will highlight the month-long memorial wall for military members and their families, to be located in the paseo between Crockett Square and one of the parking garages. The fest benefits Honor Courage Commitment Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans transition into the private sector.

pARTy on Crockett

June 20 from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.

A little artsy never killed nobody, especially with a party of three or more artists and a live band. Call it a community masterpiece-with the massive collaborative canvas to be painted. Call it the one highbrow culture thing you post to Instagram this year. Whatever you call it, the pARTy on 7th will have art for artists and plenty of good food and entertainment for those who so aren't into art. All proceeds benefit The Fort Worth Community Arts Council.

More fests

The dates are also set for two more festivals, Cowboy Palooza on July 18 and Chalk Art Festival on August 15, but details are forthcoming. For more info, check out www.west-7th.com
