Photos: Tons of fun on two wheels at Uptown Ciclovía

For five hours on Sunday, a stretch of Uptown became a car-free fun zone during the second annual Uptown Ciclovía. In addition to cycling (of course), the event, organized by Uptown Dallas and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, included live music, yoga, Zumba and more outdoor fun. Activities took place along a one-mile route that connects the Katy Trail to Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Arts District by way of Cedar Springs Road and Harwood Street.

Ciclovía, Spanish for "bicycle path," originated in Colombia in 1976 as an effort to make city cycling safer. The events are also known as Open Streets in the United States.
