Say goodbye to Gordon Biersch. The brewpub franchise is closing its only remaining North Texas location in Plano. The final day of service is Sunday, March 4.

The German-inspired restaurant, bar and brewery announced the news on its Facebook page as well as in a newsletter to fans. The notes were straight forward: "Plano will be permanently closing." In a statement provided to GuideLive, parent company CraftWorks Restaurants and Breweries said the decision to close "is the result of several economic factors."

Since Gordon Biersch opened in Plano in 2008, the craft beer scene in Dallas-Fort Worth has boomed. Back then, there were only a handful of local brewers. Now, there are more than 60 with new ones opening nearly every month.

Gordon Biersch's only other local location in Dallas closed last October.
