Ever been to a black-tie beer festival? See what's in store in Dallas on Nov. 3

Beer festivals can sometimes feel like a dime a dozen: Drinkers show up to a venue with 100-plus breweries serving more beers that any one person could possibly try and little indication of which ones are rare or special.

The Brewer's Ball, however, is not like most beer festivals.

This annual black-tie affair comes to Dallas Union Station on Friday, Nov. 3 during North Texas Beer Week, and there's plenty unique about this soiree than just the dress. About 50 breweries from across the region and nation have been curated to provide libations for the Brewer's Ball, and you can bet they're bringing recipes not widely available at bars and stores. Rare and specialty beers are the focus at this event; for example, Samuel Adams' Utopias, which fetches hundreds of dollars for a single bottle, has made an appearance the last several years. And it will again in 2017.

Beers are also served by a representative of the brewery, meaning you could meet the craft beer celebrities behind beloved operations like Saint Arnold Brewing Co., Ballast Point Brewing Co., and Lagunitas Brewing Co., all of which will be at this year's event.

At $125 per ticket, attending the Brewer's Ball isn't cheap. But consider that's the price of a VIP experience at other local beer festivals, and this one is undoubtedly one not to miss. Entry to the Brewer's Ball includes bottomless beer samples and food, which will be provided by chef Wolfgang Puck and local restaurants such as the Common Table, 18th and Vine, and Eureka, among others.

Still need convincing? Check out this monster beer list, then dust off your finest gala outfit and join us Nov. 3 for a toast to the craft beer scene. (Note: There is no official dress code for the Brewer's Ball, but it's fun to get fancy! Also some of the details of the event are still in the works, so we'll update this story when they are available.)

Tickets are currently on sale via Prekindle.
