Editor's note: This story has been updated with information about a new release party.

Beer-band collaborations have become ubiquitous in recent years, due in no small part to how perfectly music and drinking a cold one pair together. But a new North Texas project is taking beats-inspired brewing one step further.

Local businesses Martin House Brewing Co. and 13th Floor Music have teamed up to create Tip Jar, a dry-hopped wheat ale that offers a nod to not one, but 12 D-FW-based bands. Both brewery and booking agency will celebrate its launch Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Rustic in Dallas, where 11 of the bands will perform. The party kicks off at 11 a.m.

"This collaboration is a celebration of originality, craftsmanship, and perseverance, bringing together handcrafted North Texas beer and North Texas music," says a press release.

The beer will be available in cans and on draft, but is extremely limited.

As part of the project, each of the featured artists is releasing a new music video. Today, GuideLive is stoked to premiere the first by Matt Tedder called "River of Tears," off his forthcoming debut EP, California Mercy Me.

Other featured bands in the Tip Jar project include...

Rise and Shine

Natural Anthem

Kirk Thurmond and the Millenials

Atlantic Aquarius

The Hazardous Dukes

Shotgun Friday

The Paychecks

J. Charles and the Trainrobbers

Charley Crockett

Vincent Neil Emerson
