Hopheads up in Allen have a new place to pick up a pint. The Brass Tap opened Monday, August 17 in the shopping strip near Highway 121 and North Watters Road.

The business is still in soft open mode, says co-owner Sid Patel, but the bar's 80 draft taps are pouring. Patrons also have a selection of 200 bottles and cans to choose from.
The new location has a small stage for live music, but nothing on the calendar yet. Patel hopes to nail that and grand opening celebrations down in the next couple weeks.
The Brass Tap is currently serving it's full food menu, which you can peruse here, in addition to flights of four beer samples.
Sid owns the spot with his brother/business partner, Viral Patel. The duo also owns and operates retail beer shop Choice Beverage in McKinney. The Brass Tap, they told me last spring, affords them the opportunity to serve draft beer (and lots of it).
The Brass Tap Allen is the franchise's second location in North Texas. The company seems to be booming alongside the craft beer industry with 23 current U.S. locations and another nine in the works.
