Frisco RoughRiders now have an original craft beer

Fans of the Frisco RoughRiders baseball team can now show their support by the pint. On May 21, the team released an original craft beer called RoughRiders Red Ale, brewed by Franconia Brewing Co. in McKinney.

According to brewery founder Dennis Wehrmann, a fifth-generation brewer from Germany, the beer is a traditional Irish red characterized by fruity notes, a malty flavor profile and dry finish. It's a sessionable 5 percent alcohol content with 25 International Bitterness Units, meaning it's not too bitter.

The beer can be found at both the Bull Moose Saloon and the Brewhouse BBQ stand at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco where the RoughRiders play. (Be sure to grab a BBQ Cone if you're looking for something to pair it with.)
