Garland-born Donny Cates is killing Marvel's Inhumans this summer

Garland-born Donny Cates is on a warpath across the Marvel Comics universe.

He's invaded the home of Doctor Strange, sent Thanos on a victory lap across the multiverse and is currently in the process of damning Las Vegas and taking over on Venom. But Wednesday's news that he might be killing Marvel's Inhumans is a whole different story.

Set to hit shelves in July, Death of the Inhumans teams Cates (God Country, Redneck) up with artist Ariel Olivetti (Venom) as the two seemingly grapple with the future of Marvel's Kree-infused human race, including the Royal Family of Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak and more.

It's currently unknown whether this story will stand alone or if it will continue from recent Inhumans comics, though we're inclined to think the former. Marvel's no stranger to stories set in alternate universes where Earth's heroes are zombies, dogs or perpetual children, so a series about the death of an entire alien race isn't totally unheard of or impossible.

And while some fans speculate that this move may be in response to the critically-lackluster Inhumans television show on ABC, Cates took to Twitter to set that record straight.
