North Texas country sweetheart Maren Morris is engaged to fellow singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd

Maren Morris is living her love song: She announced on July 9 that she and fellow singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd are engaged.

We called Morris "D-FW's biggest breakout musician right now" in 2016.

The Arlington singer and her husband-to-be broke the news via Instagram and Twitter posts. Hers includes three photos featuring the (gorgeous) ring, the first of which shows her sitting on Hurd's lap and holding a Corona, a nod to the lyrics of Hurd's "We Found Love in a Bar," which he wrote about their budding relationship.

The pair started off as friends; when Morris was new to Nashville in 2013, her publisher set her up to write with Hurd. After building a successful writing partnership -- Tim McGraw recorded their first effort, "Last Turn Home" -- they realized their chemistry extended past music, reports People.

"We had been friends for only a couple of years, but there was always this writing chemistry in the room, and eventually, the timing of it was undeniable. We had such a foundation built off writing so many songs over the years that we were like, 'Why are we avoiding this?'" Morris told People. With that in mind, the two started dating in December 2015.

Though it's clear from their songs that neither has any trouble verbalizing emotions, for now, they're keeping the gushing private. Morris's Instagram and Twitter posts were captioned simply "Yes." with a ring emoji, while Hurd posted a photo of the two boating away captioned "7/3/17," the date of their engagement.

Morris is currently on the road with Sam Hunt's 15 in a 30 tour; Hurd has a few festival appearances soon before joining Florida Georgia Line's Smooth tour at the end of the month.

Hurd will be joining Morris on the next leg of her Hero tour this fall, but before she kicks that off in October, she'll be coming back to her roots. In case you needed one more reason to mark your calendar for the State Fair, Morris will be performing Sept. 29.
