Adele spent an incognito Halloween in Dallas in a ssssmokin' costume

Here's to all the people out there who ditch the "sexy little" Halloween costume and opt instead to confuse and bewilder with an obscure throwback. While most celebrities go for elaborate glamour or inexcusable blackface (it happens every year, doesn't it?), when it comes to famous folks with a good, or at least odd, sense of humor, we now know: There's someone like you.

That someone happens to be international superstar Adele, who is in Dallas currently for the second night of a quickly sold-out concert series at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Jealous? Us too. Many, many fans tried in vain to snag tickets to one of the hotly beloved songstress' local shows. At least we have this consolation: Adele descended onto D-FW early and spent Halloween night in Highland Park, trick-or-treating incognito as Jim Carrey's manic alter ego, The Mask.

Maybe you remember the 1994 movie of the same name, vaguely; no doubt you recognize the costume in question and a line or two. The movie did well at the box office, riding Carrey's early "It Guy" success, but it also received mixed reviews for being a darker departure from his Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber silliness. That's what makes it a total curve-ball from the fashionable songstress. Most folks born after 1990 will "get it," but it might take a minute.

Adele posted pics on her Instagram account, but with her face covered, how can you be sure it's the real deal Adele? As Time points out, you can see her unmistakable "Angelo" tattoo in one of them.
