Ronan Farrow to speak in Dallas, his Woody Allen essay still echoes

In a season when he has been at the top of the headlines, journalist Ronan Farrow just added a Dallas speech to his calendar. On Oct. 4, the NBC reporter will headline The Family Place's Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole.

Last month, Farrow generated media heat with his essay in The Hollywood Reporter that described a culture of acquiescence surrounding his father Woody Allen. The focus was on allegations that Allen sexually assaulted Farrow's 7-year-old sister Dylan. It was published just hours before the premiere of Allen's new movie, Café Society, at the Cannes Film Festival.

While Allen said little in response, his biographer Robert Weide wrote an open letter critical of Farrow's essay. He called it "disingenuous, irresponsible, and even dangerous."

Two years ago, Farrow hit the headlines when Vanity Fair's Maureen Orth asked his mother, Mia Farrow, if her ex-husband Frank Sinatra might be Ronan's biological father.
