Highlights from the Internet chatter about Roast of Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber's episode of Comedy Central Roast hasn't aired yet, but it's one of the Internet's hot topics of conversation today. The taping, which included kind words from celebrities like Hannibal Buress, Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, took place Saturday. And wouldn't you know, Bieber was celebrating his 21st birthday.

Reports about the roast say the pop singer-turned-bad boy got it handed to him, but that he was a good sport about it. He even apologized for his reckless behavior at the end of the show. The episode airs on March 30, but here is what the Internet is buzzing about.

Rolling Stone says what everyone else is thinking: This roast seems both odd and mean-spirited considering the featured celebrity.

"Previous editions of these Comedy Central shindigs have felt like friends and colleagues coming together to celebrate one another, albeit in the most acid-tongued fashion imaginable. This felt more like than a networking opportunity for the participants (did you know you can buy Ludacris' new album, Ludaversal, the day after the show airs, on March 30th? You do now!) - most of whom have at least a decade on the 21-year-old bad boy," the magazine wrote.

Actually, actor and comedian Kevin Hart said just that, reports Gawker.

"Making the case for Team Genuine Disdain, here's Buress: 'They say that you roast the ones you love, but I don't like you at all, man. I'm just here because it's a real good opportunity for me. Actually, you should thank me for participating in this extremely transparent attempt to be more likable in the public eye. And I hope it doesn't work.'"

USA Today published pictures of Justin Bieber's "cute" reunion with his pet monkey, Mally.

Oh wait, no ... apparently it was a fake, says Gawker. Not the real Mally?!

Variety says that the Paul Walker jokes were not a hit #toosoon:

"Just this past year, Justin got arrested for drag racing," said 'Saturday Night Live' star [Pete] Davidson. "Unfortunately, it wasn't with Paul Walker."

Martha Stewart said some "raunchy stuff," according to Entertainment Weekly. And she admitted, she didn't write the jokes. I believe she did write this tweet, though.

In the end, the Biebs said it was worth it.
