This year there's something extra to look forward to at the festival -- growler fills! This will be the first time any festival in Texas has offered growler fills, and with the recent demise of crowlers, it's nice to see more options for taking brews home.

Lewisville growler and bottle shop Lone Star Taps & Caps will be onsite selling custom BrewFest growlers (pictured above) filled with delicious Texan beverages for the package deal price of $25. You have the power to take any or all of these brews home:

  • Lone Pint Brewery -- Yellow Rose, Texas' most sought-after IPA
  • Live Oak Brewing Co. -- Hefeweizen, consistently rated one of the best Hefeweizens in the world
  • Bishop Cider Co. -- Crackberry, funny enough the folks at Lone Star helped give inspiration to the brewers at Bishop for this cider
  • Lakewood Brewing Co. -- French Quarter Temptress, the only opportunity to get it on draft before its official release the following week

If you were hoping to save a few bucks by bringing your own growler, you're out of luck. Festival patrons may not bring outside vessels for filling.

Enjoy BrewFest responsibility, and especially enjoy living in the future, in a time where you have hundreds of craft beers to choose from, as well as the option to bring it home to keep the party going.
