Growlers, crowlers, flights, oh my! Don't miss Thursday's BrewFest pre-party

Thursday, September 3 you're in for a treat before the long holiday weekend. Lone Star Taps & Caps in Lewisville is having a pre-party for Dallas Observer BrewFest (Sept. 12). The bar is the official growler sponsor for the festival, meaning you can purchase fills at the beer festival, a first for Dallas.

Exciting news means special brews. Check out Thursday's flight and tapping information below.

Why: The Dallas Observer BrewFest is coming up on September 12, and at this pre-party event you can win tickets to attend, free swag from the Dallas Observer street team, and enjoy special flights and tappings. Plus, Taps & Caps has 50 taps of craft beer --  'nuff said.

How much: No entry fee; you'll pay by the pour for your flights or anything else you want to drink on site, or take home.

What else: You can still buy crowlers through Friday before Lonestar has to remove its machine per TABC mandate, and at this event you'll get the can for free when you pay for the 32 ounces of tasty beer. This is a great time to stock up for the holiday weekend.

Remember to eat before you go, or bring food, especially if you’re getting the Heavy Hitter flight. Taps & Caps is not dog-friendly, but is kid-friendly, though for special events, I wouldn’t bring the kiddos since it’ll be pretty packed.
