Patio bar in Frisco closed after dispute over pricing

After four and a half years serving beer, burgers and music to bargoers in Frisco, Stan's Main Street has closed.

The restaurant and patio is built into an old house, and Stan's owner Jennifer Rearick says she couldn't afford rent plus maintenance such as upgrading the air-conditioning system.

"We're devastated, we're heartbroken," she says. "Stan's was such a unique place."

Landlord George Spiliotis confirmed that they couldn't agree on new terms.

Stan's is not related to the Stan's Blue Note on Greenville Avenue in Dallas or Stan's Lakeview Draft House in The Colony, though the same person helped start them. (He is not directly involved with any of those bars anymore, Rearick says.)

Stan's in Frisco was located on a busy part of Main Street, where restaurants like a wine bar and a steakhouse have inhabited the old homes nearby. That stretch of downtown Frisco, now called the Rail District, is expected to be home to several mixed-use developments in the coming years and may look drastically different someday.

Rearick says she hopes to open a new Stan's in Prosper, McKinney or another part of Frisco, and she's shopping for real estate right now.

"I would have been on Main Street in Frisco forever if I could've," she says.
