Texas-native Stan Hansen, 66, has been named the latest inductee into World Wrestling Entertainment's 2016 Hall of Fame class.

First reported by Tokyo Sports, 'The Bad Man from Borger' became well known in the WWE and overseas in Japan in the 70s and 80s where he wrestled the likes of fellow WWE Hall of Famers Bruno Sammartino and Antonio Inoki. His career would span nearly 40 years before his retirement in 2001.

Born in Knox City, Texas and billed from Borger, Hansen also played football at West Texas State University, a known factory for producing future professional wrestlers.

Hansen joins Sting, Jacqueline, The Godfather, The Fabulous Freebirds, and Big Boss Man in this year's class.

The Hall of Fame ceremony takes place April 2, the night before WrestleMania, at American Airlines Center.
