Willie Nelson and Leon Bridges featured on season finale of ‘Big Little Lies’

Two of Texas’ biggest music artists have featured songs in Big Little Lies season finale.

Texas music icons Willie Nelson and Leon Bridges had songs featured on Sunday’s season finale of the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning show Big Little Lies.

Bridges, Grammy award winner and Fort Worth singer, premiered a new song on the finale, called “That Was Yesterday.” Texas icon and 13-time Grammy winner Nelson’s cover of John Fogerty’s song “Have You Ever Seen The Rain,” featuring daughter Paula Nelson, from 2013 To All the Girls..., played during the final scenes of the episode.

Soul singer Bridges’ song “River” was also featured in an episode of the show’s first season.

Bridges earned his first Grammy this year for “Best Traditional R&B Performance” for song “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand.” Nelson added to his stack of Grammy awards this year with his win of “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” for My Way, making for the country legend’s 13th Grammy trophy.
