History channel will chime in with its tribute to former President George H.W. Bush this week.

History Remembers George H.W. Bush will premiere at 9 p.m. Central time on Dec. 5. 

The special will have new interviews with Bush's former Chief of Staff, Jean Becker, and presidential historian Doug Wead. Wead also worked in the White House as a special assistant to Bush.

History's special plans to explore "the lifetime of service and legacy of a war hero, businessman, family man and the 41st president of the United States."
