TV tip: Antenna TV takes us back to school with marathon of late '80s hit 'Head of the Class'

Antenna TV is trying to get you in the mood for the school year with a marathon of Head of the Class. The marathon starts Aug. 19 at 5 a.m. with the pilot episode.

Howard Hesseman (WKRP in Cincinnati) stars as Charlie Moore, who shepherds a class of gifted students that might remind some of the denizens of John Hughes' The Breakfast Club. Among the young actors who roamed the halls are some names you might recognize: Robin Givens (Boomerang); Dan Schneider (successful TV producer including Henry Danger); Brian Robbins (founder of Awesomeness TV and producer, including Smallville, Coach Carter and Behind the Curtain: Todrick Hall); Rain Pryor (daughter of legendary comedian Richard Pryor); Michael DeLorenzo (When We Rise, New York Undercover, Resurrection Blvd.); Leah Remini (Kevin Can Wait and The King of Queens); and later, Billy Connolly (The Boondock Saints) as the teacher.

The show ran from 1986 to 1991. On Aug. 19, it will run for 37 consecutive episodes on Antenna TV (Channel 33.2 and Spectrum Ch. 1256).
