NBC, Fox announce fall TV schedules that include time travel, 'Lethal Weapon'

NBC and Fox announced their fall schedules to advertisers on Monday.

NBC announced 12 new series for next year, but only three of them will be on the schedule for a fall premiere.

One of them, Timeless, finds itself in a good spot right behind The Voice on Monday nights. In the sci-fi series, a criminal steals a time machine. And, of course, because he's a criminal, he's up to no good: He evil masterminds a plan to destroy the country by changing the past. So, of course, there's a mismatched team that's hot on his trail and trying to save the country. Goran Visnjic (ER) is one of the show's familiar faces; Abigail Spencer (Suits), Matt Lanter (90210) and Matt Frewer (Orphan Black) co-star.

While NBC travels through time, Fox is going back to the future.
