'Empire' comes back with a trailer -- OMG moments intact -- teasing March 30 return

It's been a long, cold winter for fans of Fox megahit Empire.

(Spoilers on deck, though, if you haven't caught up by now, heaven help you. The truth is out there.)

Viewers were left hanging when pregnant Rhonda (Kaitlyn Doubleday) toppled down the stairs and not-as-favored son Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) and his old flame Camilla (Naomi Campbell) smiled after a coup that left them in charge of the record company.

But, finally, the network has released its first look at the spring premiere.

News Roundups

Catch up on the day's news you need to know.

Or with:

All the Empire trademarks are wrapped up in a neat bow. When Lucious (Terrence Howard) needs Cookie (award winner Taraji P. Henson), she's there with her particular brand of comfort. Hakeem is inappropriate, again; Jamal tries to be a voice of reason; Andre roars as only a Lyon can; and, huh, as she probably should, Camilla looks a little worried.

There are also questionable fashion choices, guns and a grave.

And a casting announcement: Xzibit will guest on the show as "100 percent wolf and 100 percent gangster" Leslie "Shyne" Johnson. And of course, he's got Lucious in his sights. This season is setting up to be one satisfying hot mess of a good time.

The show will return at 8 p.m. March 30 on Fox (Ch. 4).
