Let's over-analyze a single image from Netflix's upcoming 'Fuller House'

Fuller House, the Netflix-exclusive sequel to the classic family sitcom Full House, is on the horizon. The show will premiere on the streaming service on Feb. 26, marking the return of D.J., Stephanie, Danny, Uncle Jesse, Uncle Joey and everybody's favorite neighbor not named Urkel, Kimmy.

After lots of talk and a teaser trailer that didn't actually show us anything, Netflix has released the first still images from the show. We have no doubt that Netflix has carefully chosen these images to avoid spoilers about questions such as "Who is the father of D.J.'s kids?" and "Why is Kimmy wearing a cat caftan and more importantly where can I buy one?" Still, there are probably lots of secrets we can uncover if we analyze each image pixel-by-pixel.

Today we're going to focus on this image that has all of the returning cast. In it, we get a good view of the living room we all grew up watching, wishing we could live in that little nook by the window just like Uncle Joey did for way too long.

Of course, the thing that will leap out to you immediately is the fact that the Tanner/Fuller family has not purchased new living room couches or chairs in at least 20 years.

Clearly the family is feeling the effects of San Francisco's increasingly insane cost of living, but you would think that a couple of news anchors, a band frontman/club owner, a comedic television personality and whatever the heck D.J. and Stephanie do could pool together a bit of cash to find a new sofa on Craigslist. Was Wake Up, San Francisco canceled? Did the Smash Club close down?

The coffee table looks like it could be new, but it's of the exact same design.

Another thing we notice is that while Netflix has cast much older, more wrinkly actors in most of the lead roles they have convinced John Stamos to return as Uncle Jesse.

Uncle Jesse is sitting next to Uncle Joey on the couch. (Why are four grown adults squeezed onto one couch instead of using one of the chairs that are clearly empty and visible just a few feet away?) Let's look at him for a minute.

Unlike the other adults, who are looking at the hug taking place (or in Aunt Becky's case, at Uncle Jesse's wonderfully groomed hair), Joey is looking very intently at his hands. Not only that, but he seems to be smiling as he gazes into his empty palms. Why? Let's look a little closer.

He clearly looks as if he's holding a large smart phone — perhaps an iPhone 6 Plus. His smile would indicate that maybe he is doing really well in Game of War or perhaps he just received a very intimate Snapchat from someone he cares about. So where is the phone?

We could assume that Netflix has merely neglected to add that bit of CGI to the image before releasing it to the public, but that's not the sort of mistake they would make! What if, instead, this is our first real hint that Uncle Joey's mind has finally started to split? Years of portraying the dual characters of Ranger Joe and the woodchuck Mr. Woodchuck (who, you'll recall, was controlled via Joey's hands) might have finally taken its toll, and our favorite funny uncle is on the verge of losing his grip on reality?

As much as I hate to consider it, there might be a moment toward the end of this season where the family is forced to Cut. Joey. Out.

Now let's get into the things you probably missed for the first hour that you stared at this picture. You probably noticed the parrot in the background. Like the couches, this parrot is a fixture of the living room that is apparently immovable due to some dark forces that reign over the house. We can probably expect this to play a big part in this season if, as rumors have suggested, the plot deals with D.J.'s obsession with finding out why she can't seem to leave her childhood home.

But you might have forgotten that this fake parrot bears a striking resemblance to a real parrot we've seen in the show. It showed up in the season seven episode "Joey's Funny Valentine," in which Joey got a funny valentine.

You might assume that this means the funny valentine herself, Roxy, will make an appearance in Fuller House. Not so fast! We all know that the mysteries of the Full House universe are rife with red herrings and false clues, so we should look deeper into the events of that episode.

For example, the tin foil hat that Jesse wears while he's dying his hair.

Maybe — and bear with me here — the real dark force behind the Tanner house isn't mystical in nature, but extraterrestrial? I know this isn't a popular fan theory, but we know that every item in every shot of Full House has meaning. It would be absolutely brilliant on the part of the writers to hint at the true alien origins of the show way back in 1994.
