Dallas dancer Neptune owns the floor in full night of hip-hop on SYTYCD

Week four of So You Think You Can Dance competition went to the street dancers.

By the previous week's votes, technically the group, led by SYTYCD alum and actor/dancer Twitch, was in second place by a margin of one point at 49.5 percent to the stage group's 50.5 percent. But few will argue that the stand out performances Monday night came from street dancers who surpassed expectations in dance styles outside their own. (See JaJa in a jazz routine and Megz and Ariana in contemporary, ooooh baby!)

Dallas' own Neptune was one of the stars of the evening too, and he had the rare opportunity to showcase his skills in not one but three hip-hop numbers. His duet with stage cutie pie Alexia Meyer was the craziest of them all, and I mean quite literally. The number had the dancers in swagged-out straight jackets twerking up a padded wall. Sounds weird, but it was nothing short of fabulous. See for yourself:

In his critique, judge Jason Derulo called Neptune an asset to his team and a "head runner," which I think means front runner, but you never can tell with that cat. I'm still confused about this year's cast of characters on the judging bench, but I digress.

Viewers also got to learn a fun fact about Neptune. One thing he thinks America needs to know about him: He has a daughter, and a pretty freaking adorable one at that. She's what gives him inspiration in his endeavors.

"She's my love, she's my heart, she's my life," he said.

In addition to Team Street's group number at the conclusion of the show, Monday night's opening number featuring all 16 remaining contestants was a melting pot of jazz and hip-hop styles. Check them out below.
