The Tulisoma literary festival captures the Southwest African-American experience in books and story during a day of readings, art, spoken word, activities for kids and seniors, and tips on self-publishing. Noted authors making an appearance include Carole Boston Weatherford (Freedom in Congo Square; Voice of Freedom: Fannie Lou Hamer; Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom) and author and journalist ReShonda Tate Billingsley (Let the Church Say Amen, I Know I’ve Been Changed, Say Amen, Again).
After the book fair, don't miss the free Hip Hop Gospel Extravaganza on the museum lawn from 4 to 6 pm.
