Crape Myrtle Festival and Parade

Jul 3, 2019 - Jul 3, 2019

The crape myrtles will be in full bloom for the annual Crape Myrtle Festival with a "Pink Petals & Patriotism" theme for 2019. The patriotic celebration kicks off on July 3 with a tailgate party in the parking lot of Lumpkins Stadium. There will be live entertainment, a free kids zone and several food vendors. Beatles tribute band A Hard Night's Day will perform at 7:30 p.m. and the H-E-B fireworks show blasts off at 9 p.m. Lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are allowed.

On July 4, a parade through historic downtown Waxahachie steps off at 10 a.m. The parade will wind down Main Street to Getzendaner Park (400 S. Grand Ave, Waxahachie) for a community picnic with free hot dogs and snow cones. Guests can play old-fashioned games, enter the Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby and enjoy the Fourth.
