The City of Denton hosts its annual Denton Juneteenth celebration, a commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States.
The two-day celebration kicks off with a Friday night gospel concert. On Saturday, a Hometown Heroes parade steps off at noon from the Civic Center to Fred Moore Park where there will be DJs, live bands, children's games and attractions, food vendors and artists. Sports activities include a 3-on-3 Basketball Shoot Out, flag football and softball.
