Tree lighting ceremony and festival in Garland's historic Downtown Square features caroling children's choirs, hot chocolate and 100,000 sparkling lights. Christmas on the Square kicks off on Thursday, Nov. 29, with the official tree lighting starting at 5:30 p.m. Walk or drive through the downtown light display through Dec. 31.
On Saturdays - Dec. 1, 8 and 15 - get in the holiday spirit with carolers, crafts, hot chocolate and photos with Santa. 7 to 9 p.m.
To add to the fun, the Plaza Theater will be screening free holiday movies at 7 p.m. on these dates:
Nov. 30 - Christmas Vacation
Dec. 1 - The Santa Clause
Dec. 8 - White Christmas
Dec. 9 (at 2 p.m.) - Elf
Sensory Friendly Lighting Kids and adults with sensory disorders can enjoy crafts, snacks and see Santa on Wed., Nov. 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
