Southlake Oktoberfest offers fun for the entire family, including a dog show and weiner dog races.
This very short race (as in 546 yards) is preceded by Oktoberfest-themed fun in Garland's downtown square. Food, drinks, live music, German dancers, games and giveaways are on the agenda starting at 3 p.m. Dogs, and especially dogs in costumes, are welcome. The race takes off at 6:30 p.m. and the fest ends at 9:30 p.m. Race registration is $30. The event is free to attend.
