Get a prehistoric surprise -- and a bit of exercise -- along the half-mile nature trail at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Nature Preserve in McKinney. General admission includes access to this 13th annual fall and winter exhibit, which features 10 life-size animatronic dinosaurs. Trek by a 46-foot tall Tyrannosaurus rex and see a Dilophosaurus on the move; the motion-activated creatures roar and nod when guests approach. The trail is jogging stroller-friendly, and there is a dino-climbing play area and new outdoor fossil dig.

Travel back in time along a half-mile nature trail with 10 life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar.
